Jupiter, Bicycles and Greenhouses

Last night, my wife's university gave the surrounding community a chance to view Jupiter with some high-tech telescopes.  Though the three second individual viewing time may not have been worth the wait, it provided me with a decent enough photograph.  Here is a man checking out his telescope..making sure it is in working order and fine-focusing it.

While waiting for my turn at one of the telescopes, I noticed a bright light shining on a bicycle nearby...

Today I was wandering around the outside of a locked-up greenhouse.  An old greenhouse.  Here are some shots from it...

My Uncle

Due to my sister's wedding, much (extended) family time occupied my day.  Even with many people around that I normally don't see, I just didn't think to take my camera out until around midnight.  This uncle was the last person to leave.  He is an awesome uncle.  I just searched his name and the school where he teaches...the article title "Mars Pathfinding in the Channeled Scabland" came up.  He worked with NASA for the Mars Pathfinder Mission.  Pretty sweet.

He is probably thinking about some phase of the moon while making my mother think he is actually paying attention to what she is saying.

Rainy Day Windshields

Rain drips down the windows, through the gutters, and into the cracks in the sidewalk.  It also drips down the windshield of my car, providing me with an interesting photo opportunity.  After focusing on the droplets of rain and not the trees and houses behind them, a foggy, abstract image popped into my viewfinder.

Rain Drop Nebula

The colors and patterns have an almost nebula-like quality to them, reminding me of a photo from the Hubble Space Telescope.
