Windows to the Soul and Whatnot

I said it fairly recently, I try not to limit myself to certain photographic subjects or styles... I will shoot pretty much anything and will at least give other styles a chance.  So even though this style isn't my favorite style, nor is it a style I would ever do too much with, it's nice to know I am able to create something within the confines of it and get a result that I am fairly pleased with...

Spider

While walking in and out of my house, a few people mentioned something about a massive spider.  It was only this evening that I bumped into it.  It was right outside of our door and was barely illuminated by unnatural lighting.  Ive never seen a spider like this, slightly orange and extra hairy...any ideas?

Web-Slinger
It was probably a good inch and a half long and had about a three foot web...this made it quite hard to get in and out of the house without getting web on you.

Gone Boatin'

We took our boat out for the first time this year.  We like to go to Raystown Lake, which is in Huntingdon County, PA, but that's a bit far for days when you are only able to leave at noon.  We instead went to the Susquehanna River, only about an hour away, and rode around on the river, tubed, water skied, and rope ...swung? ...it was a quite enjoyable day.

Riding the Wake
Rather capable on the snow covered mountains, my brother attempted water skiing.  Once he got up he did quite well.  The shot isn't that great because I was frightened about the possibility of getting my wife's new camera wet...I wanted to get the picture as quickly as possible and return the camera to the waterproof bag.

Citrus Model
This is that same brother of mine.  Words are not necessary for this photo.

The Fall
This was where we were rope swinging.  Creating this image was fun, but I wish I got the whole process, not just the part where the swinger reached the end of the arc and fell.

Starting June With an Abstract Day

I went with my sister, her fiance, and my mother to buy a suit for my sister's wedding.  It is rare that I am not in the driver's seat, so I took the opportunity to try something that I've never had much of a chance to try before.  Long exposure time from a moving vehicle.  My end result looks much like an abstract painting I did about a year or so ago.

An Abstract View out of a Window
I only post processed the image slightly...basically, I just warmed up the colors.  I love the single thin stripe of orange under the thicker whitish/bluish line.
