Full Circle

My first post on this site had a photo of tulip buds bursting through the ground and demanding that Spring arrive...it's the last photo.  As the weather gets more and more Spring-like, I'm more inclined to take similar shots.  So, as an ode to both the wonderful weather that will soon hit us full force as well as that photo from so long ago, I give you...

Golden Sky

Today was a free day.  A day all to myself.  So, after sleeping in and eating a massive bowl of granola, I grabbed my camera and headed for the woods.  I'm rather lucky, see, in order to get to the woods you have to go for a nice walk along the river, pass tons of dogs and waterfowl, meander across a meadow and climb a few rolling hills.  Not a bad way to reach my destination.  

...and not a bad destination.  Those trees were very tall.  They might just be able to get at whatever it is they are reaching for.

Green Panoramas

I had to go to a photo shop today to drop off my camera body because I had specks of crap on my sensor.  Quite frightening.  

The problem with the specks was that they would only show up when my f-stop was greater than 11.  I tend to shoot with low f-stops...so I didn't learn that they were there until I was in the middle of some nice landscapes.  I had no intention of trying to blow those specks out of there while at the beach.  So, needless to say, some of those shots were ruined by stupid bits of dirt and dust and whatever.  

So yes, for now my camera is gone.  I should have it back early tomorrow morning.  It should be clean.  It better be clean.

Protecting the Cypress

This morning, during the Golden Hour, I went for a nice run.  Before the beautiful lighting was gone I went back home, grabbed my camera and sought out my daily photo.  I found this tree (I think it's some kind of cypress) behind a flimsy little fence with a backdrop of yellow leaves reflecting the early sunlight.  Even the browns and slight reds of the bark gain some vibrancy from the lighting...

Ceiling

I frequently come across this building just as the sun is in line with the blue windows.  The ceiling itself is normally a whitish-yellow color but gets pretty bright when the sun shines through the windows and onto it.  The cross bars and piping and whatever else is up there become overly saturated with color and this is the result:

Complimentary Colors

 Any time I saw the ceiling in this stage of lighting, I always got mad at myself for not having my camera.  Knowing I would witness the colors playing their games on the ceiling today, I brought it.  I flipped the image upside down to get a more dramatic look.
