Spray Paint The Walls!...yellow

So I came up with a fun project idea yesterday.  I choose a color, and try (which can be difficult) to find things that have been spray painted in that color.  It can be graffiti or a means of conveying info...like an X on a tree, sealing it's fate.  I say that this can be difficult because I live in Ephrata, a place that doesn't have much graffiti.  Nor does it have much info being conveyed by spray paint.  But I succeeded nonetheless.  My color choice for today...yellow.

Messages in Yellow
After piecing these images together, I realized that it could very easily be taken as a secret message.  Apparently someone is running around Ephrata trying to teach people how to become happy.  OK, so you start on the lower right side and go clockwise; (first frame) take the yellow brick staircase (second) up to the (third) stars and you will find (last) happiness.  Now I just need to find the yellow brick staircase.

Odd Graffiti

I've been biking a lot lately.  Mostly up and down Ephrata's Linear Park.  About a week ago, as I was passing one of the walls that isn't covered by vegetation, I happened to notice a single word (and smiley faces) that someone had spray painted onto it.  I had to do a double-take.  The single word was Zimbabwe.  I didn't do a double-take because I have some problem with Zimbabwe, but instead because it is just not something you would expect on a wall in Ephrata, graffiti or otherwise.
Today, while riding past, I noticed that someone had gone at it with cleaning equipment, and if they were to do so again, Zimbabwe would disappear.  Thus, I grabbed my camera.  I must help Zimbabwe stick around in one form or another.

Zimbabwe
Whoever wrote it was definitely happy.  Two smiley faces for Zimbabwe.

Meandering

I've been spending my free time preparing for my upcoming art show.  It is drawing nearer and nearer and I keep thinking of things I need to do for it.  This meant that it was awhile before I picked up my camera to consider today's photo.  It was dark by the time I finally did, but thought that maybe some night shots might turn out decently.  And so I went outside and meandered.

Follow the Stars
I didn't use a star filter on this shot.  Apparently a long exposure will result in starry lights.  I like the path that the three lights create.

Stoplight Shingles
A nearby stoplight caused a wall of shingles to light up.  I didn't really like this photo too much but my wife seemed to.  It reminds me of a peacock's tail.

Facing the Wall

I frequently try to get my wife to give me ideas for my daily photo project.  She has helped me with some of my favorite projects, so I know it is in my best interest to pose the question from time to time.  When I did so today, she hung a piece of paper on the wall and stood in front of it.

Portrait of My Wife
I added a chair and some work lights to create a good representation of my wife; a girl that is transfixed by words on paper.

Indoors

It's chilly outside.  This is not the weather I would like to end March with.  I'd even take rainy days if it meant that the temperature wasn't cold enough for a prediction of snow on Friday.  But no, it's chilly out there and I'm not in the mood to venture out into it.  So today's pictures feature the inside of my house.  Here is the first picture...

The Study
It goes without saying that if you have upwards of 700 shelved books in a room, you have a study.  Especially if that room is less than 15x15 feet.  I have a study.

The next picture really doesn't count because it's a photo of my photos.
I spent much of my free time today matting and framing three of my photos.  All three are for the same customer. Two of the photos are from this site, you might recognize them from an earlier post.  The other one is from my actual shop.  He was looking at this site and liked them so much that he checked out my other site, and shazaam....I sold three photos.  I consider this awesome because these photos are really not my best work.  They are just part of a project to keep me shooting.  But hey, I'm definitely not complaining.

Framed, Matted, and Hung
I always end up hanging my sold photos until I have a chance to deliver or mail them out.  I figure it's a nice, safe, out of the way place.  Plus, they should probably get used to hanging on a wall.
